TTM will be running the 'New' Davis County Fair demo derby on Sunday July 20.

Classes are:  Compact weld, Fullsize wire, compact truck/suv, and lawn mowers.  Details are posted below....

                               "Double-Down" Derby BONUS

 

TTM will offer a DOUBLE-DOWN bonus of $500.00 for drivers of these classes:

            compact weld, Fullsize wire  (......compact truck/suv--NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BONUS--less than 10 entries at fair)

 

1) WIN both corresponding "A" features at the Fair and Fall Brawl...

     driver will receive a $500 bonus.  (lawn mower class not eligible, sorry!)

 

2) ADDITIONAL BONUS FOR ANY DRIVER ENTERING THE FAIR DERBY: the highest finishing driver in each of the four classes at the fair will be guaranteed a starting spot in that corresponding FALL BRAWL "A" Feature.

 

The "fine print" to this deal:  1) we must have a minimum of 10 entries per class per event to be eligible for the $500 bonus   2) The highest finishing driver in each class from the fair will be guaranteed a spot in that corresponding Fall Brawl "A" Feature-HOWEVER,  they must attempt to qualify through a heat (and consi if needed) at the Fall Brawl.

GENERAL RULES
All drivers must wear helment, eye protection, and seat belts.

 

Ages 14 and up may compete.  Anyone entering pit area under 18 must have proper waiver papers filled out and signed my parents.


Car number plate must be mounted on roof, number must be clearly read by scorers. 15"x15" minimum.


All glass, chrome, tools, beer cans, trash, etc, etc... MUST be remove prior to entering tech.


Battery must be moved to passenger floor area - secured and covered.

 

Transmission coolers will be allowed but must be safe and securely mounted.


Factory fuel tank must be removed (except for compact provisions). Fuel tank must be relocated to rear seat area, maximum 6 Gal capacity, must be SECURE AND SAFE.... all fuel line conections must be safe and free from leaks. If running electric fuel pump you must have shut-off switch within reach of driver AND LABELED. Fuel cell protectors may be used, maximum 24" wide, mounted in center (left to right) of car, may be attached to rear seat bar only, must NOT be in contact with sheetmetal prior to derby. This is NOT to strengthen car in anyway or it will be removed.

 

No intentional driver’s door hits. It does happen, but you will be dq’ed if we feel it was intentional. Do not use your door as a shield either as you may be disqualified for that as well.

 

No sandbagging or holding. No pinning to win.

 

If you have 2 fires of any kind that need extinguishers to put it out, you will be disqualified.

 

You will be given 60 seconds for an aggressive hit and 60 seconds for a restart or if you are hung up. 

**NEW CLASS:  Compact Truck/SUV (compact van-ok)  
                  Must be a 1980 and Newer  
1. Must be stock, unless noted below.  We want the average person in the grandstand to be able to recognize and relate to the vehicles being used.  This is a stock appearing class.  Make it fun! 
2. All glass, plastic, chrome, and interior must be removed before arriving .  NO adding of any type of filler to any body cavity or frame.  You must have a number clearly visible on a roughly  15”x15” sign  on top of  vehicle. NO EXPANDING SPRAY FOAM ANYWHERE.
3. Use engine and trans. of choice, must be in stock location.  You may weld stock style motor and tranny mounts. You may use two pieces of 3/8 chain on front corners of engine to help hold it, NO welding of chain links.  NO engine cradles. No engine cages. No pulley protectors.  No distributor protectors. NO braces, plates, down-tubes, or reinforcement of any kind.  4x4 vehicles must remove one driveshaft rendering it two wheel drive.  Rearends - axles - hubs - differentials - transaxles...  must be stock appearing.  No bracing allowed on any housings.   DRIVESHAFTS:  NO fabricated driveshafts may be used with longer than stock slip yokes. Must be factory stock driveshaft parts.  
4. If using a radiator, it must be in stock location.  You can run without radiator but must loop hoses together. NO welded / fabricated radiator guards, bracing, or reinforcement. 
5. All vehicles must have working brakes. 
6. Original fuel tanks and lines must be removed. You must use a well made fuel cell and it must be properly secured and covered. No plastic tanks of any kind. Fuel line must be secured and fastened properly. Keep away from exhaust. Place fuel cell in the center vehicle behind driver.  ABSOLUTELY NO LEAKS WILL BE ALLOWED!
7. Transmission coolers will be allowed, but must be safe and properly secured.
8. Batteries must be moved to passenger floorboard close to transmission. It must be properly secured and covered. If using electric fuel pump switch must be mounted and labeled for easy access to driver and officials/fire personel.
9. Suspension must remain stock appearing with exception of the following:  Tie rods must be stock on each end, NO HEIMS, adjuster may be welded or replaced with same size tube and welded.  Leaf sprung vehicles may either have 6 3/8” leafs or 8 5/16” springs. six clamps per side. You are allowed 2 spots per side to chain rear end & springs to frame. Use chain, wire or cable. #9 wire- 3/8 cable or 3/8 chain only. No welding of chain links.  Vehicles with struts on suspension may be reinforced but remain stock on each end. You may bolt, wire, or chain coil springs so they will stay in place.
10. Hoods may be bolted down. You can have up to 8 hood bolts but only 2 (maximum 1" dia.) may go to the frame. You must have at least two 8"x8" holes in hood for fire fighting.
11. NO FRAME SHAPING: NO PRE-BENDING OF FRAME, NO PLATING, NO TILTING, NO SHARPENING, SQUARING, PINNING, HAMMERING, LOADING, FILLING, ETC. ETC. You may replace original body bolts with maximum 1" dia. bolts with maximum 1/2" 6"x6" plates. Plates may NOT be welded.  RUST REPAIR: Rusted frames may be repaired with 3/16" thick metal up to 2" past the rusted area. Leave the rust.
12. Drivers door may be welded shut, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You may use up to 3/16" x 3" strap at seams. All other side doors must be wired shut. For drivers protection you may have a bar or X welded behind drivers seat from door post to door post. You may also have a cowl/dash bar welded across in dash area. Bars may be welded between cowl bar and seat bar, but must ONLY be attached to those bars, must run as horizontal as possible. Roll loop (inside or over roof) may be welded or bolted to seat bar, door bar, floor or sheet metal ONLY. NO kickers of any kind. NO part of cage or roll loop may be attached to frame. NO part of roll loop or cage may extend more than 12" past the back of the front seat. ALL FOR SAFETY - Judges decisions are final.
13. Any Automotive bumper may be used on any vehicle but only 1 set of brackets may be used.  Bumper may be reinforced/loaded, but all work must be done inside and remain stock appearing. You may trim bumper ends or fold them around. Welding the bumper skins together (chrome to inner liner of bumper) is allowed. When welding bumpers, shocks and brackets – do not add any metal. Weld shocks and brackets solid if you wish. Bumpers may be welded directly to horns with NO added metal.  FRONT bumper may be WIRED to radiator support with 4 loops in 4 places. NO STRAPS. REAR bumper may be be wired like front OR a MAXIMUM of three STRAPS.  Straps must be maximum of 1/4" thick, 3" wide, and maximum of 6" on bumper and 6" on sheetmetal.

You will be allowed to do ONE of the following to attach bumper:
a. Run a stock bumper shock and bracket that may not exceed 12 inches. The shock and bracket must be used together in stock form. Welded on one side of the frame.
b. Run a pipe no bigger than 3 inches in diameter or a 3"x3" square. Neither can be thicker than 3/8”. Neither of these may be longer than 12”. You must have a ½” hole drilled in your frame at the 12” point. You must also drill a ½” hole in your pipe or tube so we may check thickness. This must be done BEFORE entering inspection. 
c. Run one 3/8" x four inch wide flat strap, maximum of 12" long as a bumper bracket. The strap must be welded to bumper and outside of frame only. May not wrap to other side of frame.
14. If the leaf spring mounts are rusted out, you may use a piece of square tubing ¼” thick, 8” long and weld it the bottom of the frame or were the stock location was.
15. Tailgates / trunks / hatches .... they must be in stock form and location.  May be wired shut with #9 wire or welded.  IF WELDED they must be skip welded on outside only-weld 6",  then 6"+ open, then weld 6", and so on.  Maximum 3/16" by 3"wide strap for filler. REAR bumper may be wired like front OR a MAXIMUM of three STRAPS. Straps must be a maximum of 1/4" thick, 3" wide, and maximum of 6" on bumper and 6" on sheetmetal.
16. Tires/Wheels: Must have air in tire only. Any ply but cannot be doubled up or foam filled. Skid loader tires OK. Stem protectors ok. NO split rims or studded tires. Wheel weights MUST be removed.
17. Truck bed may be welded to cab along side only, outside only, with maximum 3/16" x 3" filler. May also add 4 bolts in a vertical line in the middle of the front of the box where it meets  the cab.  Bolts will be a maximum 1/2" diameter with a maximum of 2 - 3" diameter washers used on each bolt. Washers may be welded to sheetmetal.

Compact Weld Rules: compact weld rules will follow with the fullsize rules with the following exceptions: 

1. Any 4 or 6 cylinder engine,  front wheel drive compact with wheelbase 108 inches or less. Rear wheel drive compacts must have wheelbase of 105" or less, no altering of stock wheelbase.

2. Four whee drive compacts may be run but must have one drive shaft removed rendering it two wheel drive.

3. A maximum 2"x2" ¼ inch thick piece maybe added on the top side of the radiator support but must be between the two pieces of all-thread and may not exceed the outside width of the frame.

4. All Frame and Body seams maybe welded under the hood, firewall forward with no filler.

5. No hubs or rearends larger than factory 5 lugs may be used.

6. All fullsize cage rules apply with the exception of the side bars may be no longer than 72 inches

7.  Struts may be reinforced but remain stock on each end.

8.  Fullsize car bumpers may be used but must be trimmed to stock length for the compact car being used.

9. One back window bar may be ran in the middle of the back window. It may not exceed two inches wide and ¼ inch thickness and must be in front of the trunk seam and may not be attached to the halo bar.

10. You will be allowed to do one of the following to attach front bumper:

a. Run a stock bumper shock and bracket that may not exceed 12 inches. The shock and bracket must be used together in stock form. Welded on one side of the frame.

b. Run a pipe no bigger than 3 inches in diameter or a 3"x3" square. Neither can be thicker than 3/8”. Neither of these may be longer than 12”. You must have a ½” hole drilled in your frame at the 12” point. You must also drill a ½” hole in your pipe or tube  so we can may check thickness. This must be done BEFORE entering inspection. 

c. Run one 3/8" x four inch wide flat strap, maximum of 12" long as a bumper bracket.  The strap must be welded to bumper and outside of frame only. May not wrap to other side of frame.

11.  You may use stock fuel tank, if its stock location is in front of rear tires.  You must relocate fuel fill tube to backseat area and must be secured and leak proof.

12.   You may run a maximum of 6 leaf springs. You may not double the main and they must be no thicker than 5/16”.  Sprint leaf stagger must be a minimum of  2” inches in the back and 1” in the front.

13. You may wedge a trunk however your bumper height must remain a minimum of sixteen (16) inches from the bottom of bumper to the ground.

 

 

 

Fullsize Wire Class Demo Rules 2014

 

Passenger cars or station wagons 1967 or newer (NO imperials or components of, NO 03' and up Fords, NO suicide Lincolns, NO ambulances, NO hearses, NO 4x4's)

 

 

ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN
Any make of drivetrain to any car.
Any 5 lug rear end may be used. Engine must remain in factory location. Engine cradle, halo and pulley protectors ARE allowed, but NO KICKERS to frame. Engine may be wired or chained to frame. NO mounts from engine or transmission may be attached to cowl bar. NO midplate engine/transmission mounts. Transmission cooler allowed but must be secured and safe.

 

DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS (DP)
Distributor protectors ARE allowed. NOT to be in contact with firewall prior to event. DP are NOT to come in contact with cowl bar before, during, OR after event. NO kickers of any kind off DP. DP NO bigger than 12"X12".

 

SUSPENSION/STEERING
Front upper a-arms may be welded or wired down (see bumper height in bumper section). Tie-rods ends must be stock, but the center can be re-enforced-NO HEIM ENDS. You may replace upper ball joints with one bolt with max diameter same as stock ball joint stud. You may replace stock steering column and shaft with replacement collapsable shaft and/or steering joints. Quick release steering wheel - OK. ONLY FACTORY LEAFED CARS ALLOWED. Leaf springs must be stock, you may add one spring as long as the main leaf spring, you can't wrap the added leaf spring to make a double main. The Main leaf spring must be the top spring in the spring pack and leaf springs must stagger down with at least a 2 inch stagger from longest to smallest. You can re-clamp springs, 6 clamps per side homemade or factory. Homemade clamps may NOT exceed 2x4x1/4 inch. You can put spacers in sagging coil springs to get your height. You can bolt or wire coil springs to rear-end and frame to prevent springs from falling out. You may weld leaf spring mounting brackets to prevent them from becoming unbolted-no added metal.

 

TIRES / WHEELS
15" max wheel diameter. Must have air in tire only. Any ply but cannot be doubled up or foam filled. Skid loader tires OK. Stem protectors ok. NO split rims or studded tires. Wheel weights MUST be removed.

 

BUMPERS
Any Automotive bumper and bumper brackets may be used on any car but only 1 set of brackets may be used. Bumper brackets must remain stock and no cut/relocating of bracket parts. Bumper may be reinforced/loaded, but all work must be done inside and remain stock appearing. You can weld bumper brackets and shocks to the bumper. You can weld shocks to shock towers. You may trim bumper ends or fold them around. Welding on the bumper skins together (chrome to inner liner of bumper) is allowed. When welding bumpers, shocks and brackets – do not add any metal. Weld shocks and brackets solid if you wish. Bumpers may be welded directly to horns with NO added metal. Bumper height (measured from bottom of stock bumper material to ground): min: 16" - max 24" . FRONT bumper may be WIRED to radiator support with 4 loops in 4 places. NO STRAPS. REAR bumper may be WIRED to trunk deck with 4 loops in 4 places. NO STRAPS.

 

RADIATOR/HOOD
Radiator must remain in factory location and operational. Radiator support mounts may be replaced with up to 1" threaded rod from frame mount to hood. Four Additional hood bolts may be added (sheetmetal to sheetmetal) with hood plates 6" x 6" x 1/2" or smaller. NO bolts, threaded rod, plates, etc.... may be attached to any part of engine, trans, DP, cradle, etc... Hood must have big enough holes for inspection and fighting fires.

 

FRAMES/MOUNTS/BODY
Frames may be cold bent with NO added material. TOP seam of frame from a-arms forward may be rewelded (1/2" max. width). Rusted frames may be repaired with 3/16" metal up to 2" past the rusted area. Leave the rust. Bent frames may be repaired with 3/16" metal 4" x 6" and only welded to one side of frame. You are allowed a total of 4 patches on each frame rail. NO layering of patches. If we can not tell frame was bent you will cut off patch. Drill 1/2" hole for inspection in any/all patches. You may loop chain or wire from rear end to frame at hump on each side. No bigger than #9 wire or one loop of 3/8"chain. You may wire rear frame rails together at two spots behind rear end with maximum of 4 loops around frame - NO cable or chains.

Body mount bolts may be replaced with 1" or smaller dia. bolts/all-thread. Plates on top of sheetmetal may not be welded and must be less than 1/2"x6"x6". Rubber body mounts may be removed and/or replace with similar sized solid 'puck'.

Trunks, package areas, spare tire areas, doors, etc... must remain empty and inspectable. Must have holes cut in trunk lid and/or trunk area large enough to inspect trunk. NO all-thread in trunk area - wire only! Wheel openings may be cut for tire clearance and bolted back together using maximum of 8 3/8" dia. bolts per wheel opening with standard 3/8 washers - no oversized washers or plates. For safety - windshield area MUST have wire, pipe, or bar from firewall to roof in center of opening, NOT to be designed to strengthen firewall/roof area - FOR SAFETY ONLY. NO bars allowed in rear glass/package areas to roof. NO bars, pipes, straps in side window areas, wire IS allowed. Driver must have easy access in and out of vehicle either through side window or windsheild area. On hardtop cars only, for safety, one - 4" x 3/16" strap may be welded from door post to roof on each side.

Drivers door may be welded shut, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You may use up to 3/16" x 3" strap at seams. All other doors must be wired shut. For drivers protection you may have a bar or X welded behind drivers seat from door post to door post. You may also have a cowl/dash bar welded across in dash area. Bars may be welded between cowl bar and seat bar, but must ONLY be attached to those bars, must run as horizontal as possible. Roll loop (inside or over roof) may be welded or bolted to seat bar, door bar, floor or sheet metal ONLY. NO kickers of any kind. NO part of cage or roll loop may be attached to frame. KIDS POWER WHEELS DERBY 

 2 classes Ages: 4-6 and Ages: 7-9  

 

RULES: All children must be signed in with at least one legal parent/guardian at the pit gate. PIT PASS CHARGES MUST APPLY TO ANYONE ENTERING THE PIT AREA FOR ANY REASON. If both parents are unable to attend event you must have signed notarized minor release forms with child.  Email ttmllc@att.net for needed forms.


All children must wear safety helmets. Highly recommend full face helment.  All children must wear at minimum: long sleeve shirt, long pants, full footwear (boots recommended - NO OPEN SHOES!) If child gets out/off of the power wheel during event, that child is out of event.

 

All Power wheels must remain stock with no added re-enforcements!  You may replace plastic tires with rubber tire of similar size for added traction. Must use factory battery only and must be mounted securely and covered.

 

Power wheels may be decorated, but may be NOT re-enforced by decoration.  Decoration can only be made out of the following: Card board- tape- paper- etc.Keep in mind this is for fun for the children! NO sharp, protruding elements allowed.

 

Each Power wheel must have a number visible for scoring. Car number must be on childs helment as well.

 

Each age group will be given a time limit. One parent will be allowed on the track with child during the event.  All children participating will receive a medal. 

 
                        Lawn Mower RULES
SAFETY
1. DRIVER MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF A LONG-SLEEVE SHIRT, LONG PANTS, and BOOTS
2. HELMET MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
3. MUST HAVE SOME SORT OF EYE PROTECTION ON AT ALL TIMES.
GENERAL RULES:
1. THE GARDEN OR LAWN MOWER MUST HAVE A FACTORY FRAME, NO HOMEMADE FRAMES.  
2. MUST BE A FRONT ENGINE MOWER NO REAR ENGINES ALLOWED.
3. ALL MOWERS MUST HAVE FACTORY STOCK ENGINES 20 HP MAXIMUM AIR COOLED
4. REINFORCING THE FRAME IS PERMITTED
5. TRANSAXLES MUST BE FACTORY, WELDING OF SPIDER GEARS IS ALLOWED
6. REINFORCING AROUND THE ENGINE IS ALLOWED BUT CAN’T BE OUTSIDE OF THE HOOD. SPARK PLUGPROTECTORS RECOMMENDED.
7. HOODS MUST REMAIN FACTORY, HOODS CAN BE SCREWED DOWN OR WELDED, IF HOOD IS FIBERGLASS,YOU CAN MAKE A HOOD FROM SHEET METAL BUT IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE ANY BIGGER THAN THEFIBER GLASS HOOD WAS.
8. BRAKES MUST BE IN OPERATION WHEN PULLING IN FOR THE HEAT RACE, MUST ALSO HAVE FORWARD AND REVERSE.
9. GAS TANK MUST BE FASTENED WITH THE CAP ON, IF IT COMES LOOSE OR GAS LEAKS YOU WILL BEDISQUALIFIED.
10. SOME SORT OF LEG GUARD IS MANDATORY BEFORE ENTERING ARENA, MUST GO FROM REAR FENDER TO FRONT FOOT REST OR FRAME.
11. A REAR BUMPER IS ALLOWED BUT MAY NOT EXTEND MORE THAN FOUR INCHES OUT FROM REAR OF MOWER (NOT THE TIRES), CAN NOT EXTEND PAST THE TIRE. REAR BUMPER MUST BE AT LEAST 6 INCHESFROM THE GROUND.
12. PULLEYS CAN BE CHANGED TO INCREASE SPEED.
13. DRIVETRAIN MODIFICATIONS ARE ALLOWED BUT MUST STAY BELT DRIVEN
14. WHEELS MUST BE OF LAWNMOWER TYPE. NO DUAL WHEELS. TRACTOR TREAD AND CUT TIRES ARE ALLOWED. TIRES MUST BE LAWN MOWER TYPE. NO WHEEL WEIGHTS
15. MOWER DECKS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTRANCE TO PIT AREA, PLUS ALL HEADLIGHTS AND ANY OTHER PLASTICS AND TRIM MUST BE REMOVED.
16.BATTERY MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED IN A SAFE LOCATION AND COVERED WITH A NON-CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL. NO GAS TANKS OR BATTERIES IN FRONT OF OR ONTOP OF MOTOR. MAXIMUM 1 GALLON OF FUEL.
17. THE FRONT OF THE FRAME MAY BE STRENGTHENED FOR HITTING. FRONT BUMPER MAY NOT COVER FRONT TIRES MAXIMUM 6 INCHES TALL, MUST BE AT LEAST 6 INCHES OFF THE GROUND, 2 INCHES FROM FRONT FRAME OF MOWER, BUMPER MUST BE FLAT NO POINTS OR SHARP EDGES. 
18. IN THE EVENT OF TWO ROLL-OVERS THE DRIVER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
19. IN CASE OF A ROLL-OVER THE EVENT WILL BE STOPPED UNTIL THE DRIVER/OFFICIALS GET THE MOWER BACK UP RIGHT.
20. NUMBER MUST BE SOMEWHERE ON EACH SIDE OF THE MOWER, NUMBER MAY BE ON HELMET ALSO.

2013 Rollover Contest Rules:
1. #1 Rule is to HAVE FUN with this, and to KEEP IT SAFE! 
2. Any compact car.
3. Remove all burnable interior, dash is optional.
All insulation under hood must be removed.
Must have holes in hood to fight fires. All chrome, trim, glass,
loose items, tools, trash, etc. MUST be removed prior to event.
4. Sunroof openings must be sealed off with securely mounted steel.
5. If windshield is removed you may use screen or lexan.
Recommend using support braces if screen or lexan is used.
Window net must be added to drivers side.
6. A roll loop behind drivers seat MUST be used. Recommend it
be X-braced.Hoop bar must be reinforced with two down bars
(connecting at at least 2/3rds of the way up the hoop for added
stability and must be full height and width of car. Four pt. cages
or other frame and body supports are highly recommended but
not mandatory.
7. Driver’s Door must be welded chained or bolted shut. Drivers
door may be reinforced.
8. Must have functioning brakes. Cars without adequate brakes
will not be allowed to compete.
9. Passenger car, DOT approved tires. No studded tires or chains.
10. Battery may be relocated. Must be secured and covered, in
battery box.
11. Full-face helmets, neckbrace, long sleeve shirt, long pants and gloves
mandatory. Flame retardant suit and approved racing shoes are highly
recommended.
12. Drivers seat and seat belts must be securely fastened to vehicle.
Aftermarket seat and seat belts are allowed.
13. Drivers must be at least 18 years of age.
